Who doesn't love Mexican? It features on most families menu each week.
Why not try this Mexican mince recipe to have with your tacos next Tuesday. It's easy and uses organic spices to get that perfect Smokin' flavour!
If you're desperate for a really quick Tex Mex fix, then skip the veggie bit and stick with a bucket of salad. Then you just brown the mince, add the salt, spice and tomatoes and voila!
Take this one recipe and use it in a a few different ways.
- burrito bowl
- burrito wraps
- stuffed and roast capsicum
- stuffed and roasted pumpkin
- tacos of course
- Nacho base
Ingredients

1kg beef or chicken mince
- 1 brown onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced or grated
- 1 zucchini, diced or grated
- 2-4 mushrooms 🍄

1 x 400g tin diced tomatoes or ½-1 tub of tomato paste

2 tablespoons Smokin’ Secret Spice Co

1-2 teaspoons Himalayan salt
Directions
Heat a heavy based pot on medium high heat while you chop
- Gently fry the onions in a little olive oil while you keep chopping (the smaller you chop, the quicker it cooks)
- Add the remaining veggies as you go
- Add the mince and break it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Once it browned a little, add the salt and spice and stir through
- Pour in the tomatoes or stir through the paste
- Allow to simmer gently until the veggies are softened while you chop your salad and prepare salsa
- Stir regularly and add water as needed
- Taste for salt
- If you like it more saucy, add more tomatoes or water
- If you like it less saucy then simmer without the lid on for a bit
Serve with Smokin’ Salsa and all the trimmings
